Born in Mozambique, Luisa left her homeland when she was nine.
Growing up in Portugal, during that time of turbulence and conflict, created an inner sense of displacement. The childhood memories remained scattered and opened wounds that became later, in her adulthood, shadows to revisit.
Luisa started her new journey drawing those moments from her past that will endure in her work. Using sculpture to create new forms and shapes a new dimension emerged throughout her visual perception.
Drawing, Photography, Video, Sound and Installations are Luisa’s approach to her creative practice.
